Royal Goldsmiths: The Art of Rundell & Bridge, 1797-1843

This exhibition, the first to be devoted to the firm founded by Philip Rundell and John Bridge at the end of the eighteenth century, was held in a specially designed exhibition space on the ground floor of 53--64 Chancery Lane.

Comprising loans from Her Majesty The Queen and from museums and private collections around the world, the exhibition included some 90 items of silver, ormolu, snuffboxes, swords, decorations and medals made or sold by Rundell & Bridge (later Rundell, Bridge, Rundell and later Rundell, Bridge & Co.).

It featured works made or marked by William Bateman, John Bridge, Richard Cooke, John Northam, William Pitts, Philip Rundell, Digby Scott & Benjamin Smith, Benjamin & James Smith, Paul Storr, Alexander James Strachan, John Tapley, T. Wyon and others.
